Letter From

Organizing Committee Head

Dear viewer

Greetings of the day

G.D Goenka Model United Nations India is a three-day international relations simulation for MUN enthusiasts, wherein delegates gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets. It will prove to be an exciting opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these global issues.

During the conference, students will learn the importance of balancing national interests with the needs of the international community, while also learning about the powers and limitations of international negotiation. Delegates will preserve their countries’ national policy while negotiating in the face of other, sometimes conflicting, international policies.

The Executive Board of GDMUN 2019 is carefully selected to include the most passionate and dedicated directors from different places within J&K and beyond. Each of the background guides is carefully crafted for its respective committee and reflects careful and thorough research. All of our Committee Directors are extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, and committed to the ideals of GDMUN and the broader educational mission of Model United Nations, resulting in well-run and focused committees. Many delegates will leave our conference with a new-found passion for international relations and greater awareness of the issues that dominate our world.

At GDMUN’19, you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with more than 350+  students from more than 30 reputed schools from J&K and other adjoining states. GDMUN will provide a host of substantive issues for this dynamic group of students and create a forum for debate and negotiation among them – a truly worthwhile experience. Our conference is designed to foster negotiation and public speaking skills, introduce students to a range of global challenges, and provide culturally diverse perspectives on a variety of issues.

GDMUN’19 will definitely establish its credentials as a person-centred experiential learning platform for students with an overriding focus on Transformative Leadership. We focus on what we believe is the most critical aspect of leadership: adaptive capacity, or the ability to adapt quickly to positively leverage the opportunities in fast changing environments.

We shall strive to develop personal potential attributes in an individual which include ethics & integrity, team work, and planning & organisation in order to improve this critical capacity in participants.

Yours sincerely,

Yashvardhan Rathore
